What You'll Do: The Director of Business Development (DoBD) at Mount Sinai Innovation Partners (MSIP) is a trusted business advisor to our investigators and inventors and a credible colleague of MSIP's commercial counterparts. The DoBD identifies nascent technologies across all therapeutic areas and modalities with commercial potential, creates strategies to advance technologies internally to position them for high value partnerships, leads the scientific evaluation of promising new technology disclosures, crafts strategic patent strategies and marketing plans, and actively engages with the commercial marketplace to help ensure that innovative therapeutics, diagnostics, devices and other technologies are made available to our worldwide patient population and become the new standard of care. As the deal team leader for negotiations with commercial partners, the DoBD drives the scientific and business framework for such transactions. The DoBD reports directly to the Managing Director of Business Development and Licensing and works collaboratively with Finance, Operations, Patent and Contracts teams to bring exceptional value to the Health System, the School of Medicine and our commercial partners. The DoBD is fully able to draft complex License Agreements, Sponsored Research Agreements, Collaboration Agreements and similar intellectual property agreements. The DoBD develops strong relationships and networks, influences decisions, thinks strategically and executes good deals to deliver the right asset to the right partner at the right time.
