Reporting to the Director of Technology Transfer, the Senior Business Development and Licensing Manager will be responsible for commercializing Dartmouth's research assets by identifying, evaluating, marketing, and licensing inventions made by Dartmouth inventors.
Advanced technical degree and/or MBA preferred.
Five years of relevant experience in an academic technology transfer office or with licensing and commercialization.
Knowledge of the Patent Law and Federal Regulations pertaining to intellectual property and academic technology transfer desired.
Industry experience or startup experience desired.
Proven ability to work successfully both as an individual contributor and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to recommend and take action with confidence.
Proven ability to prioritize and manage a diverse group of activities on a daily basis despite multiple interruptions and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Tact, professionalism, and demonstrated experience in working with confidential information.
Ability to understand and to clearly communicate legal requirements of federal regulations to researchers and other constituencies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of computer databases and electronic communications software.
Able to manage complex and demanding relationships with tact and discretion.
Knowledge of the Patent Law and Federal Regulations pertaining to intellectual property and academic technology transfer.
